01 / Information

Information we may handle.

The Component Club may process information that you choose to submit, such as your name, email address, company, contact details, account details, newsletter choices, messages, editorial submissions and other information included in a form or communication.

Technical and security information may also be generated when you use the website. This can include request data, browser or device information, session identifiers, security tokens and diagnostic information needed to operate, protect and troubleshoot the service.

03 / Cookies & storage

Essential first, optional by preference.

The website may use essential cookies or similar browser storage for security, sessions, authentication, CSRF protection and preferences you explicitly choose. These functions are required for requested features to work correctly.

Optional analytics or marketing technologies should be controlled through the cookie preference interface where available. You can reopen those preferences from the footer. Blocking optional storage may reduce measurement or personalisation but should not prevent ordinary access to editorial content.

04 / Membership & email

Your inbox remains your choice.

Where you create a Component Club account, the site records the email address, username, password hash, verification state and the privacy choices made during registration. An essential verification email is sent to confirm access to the email address before a new account can be used. Security and other service messages required to operate the account are separate from marketing communications.

Newsletter and marketing permission is optional and is recorded separately from the account information needed to provide the service. Marketing or partner communications should only be sent where the appropriate permission has been given.

You can withdraw from newsletter mailings using the unsubscribe route or other unsubscribe mechanism included with messages. A suppression record may be retained where necessary to prevent an address from being unintentionally re-added.

05 / Editorial submissions

Information sent for publication may be reviewed editorially.

If you submit press material, product information, images, technical documentation, an article proposal or other content for editorial consideration, it may be reviewed, checked, edited and stored for the purpose of deciding whether and how it should be covered.

Submitting material does not guarantee publication. You should only provide material you are authorised to share. Confidential information should not be submitted unless confidentiality has been agreed in advance.

06 / Commercial content

Advertising and external destinations.

The Component Club may display advertising, sponsored placements or links to manufacturers, distributors and other third parties. Commercial relationships do not automatically make third-party claims part of our own editorial position.

External websites operate under their own privacy, security and commercial terms. Check those terms before submitting information or completing a transaction on another service.

07 / Data rights

Requests about your personal information.

Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

Use the contact page for privacy-related requests and provide enough information for the request to be identified and handled securely. We may need to verify identity before disclosing or changing personal information.

08 / Website terms

Use technical information as engineering information.

The Component Club aims to present accurate and useful information, but electronics data changes and errors can occur. Product specifications, availability, pricing, standards and manufacturer statements should be confirmed against current primary documentation before they are relied upon for a design, purchase or safety decision.

Calculators, guides and articles are general engineering resources, not a substitute for the validation, testing, compliance work or professional judgement required for a particular product or application. Users remain responsible for their own designs and decisions.

Unless otherwise stated, original site text, graphics, layout and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Reasonable linking and quotation are welcome; substantial republication requires permission.
