Bourns Introduces Low-Profile Shielded Power Inductors for Automotive Designs

Bourns has introduced the SRP2010PA, SRP2510PA, and SRP2512PA Series shielded power inductors with a metal-alloy powder core, high saturation current, and AEC-Q200 compliance for automotive and DC-DC converter applications.

Uploaded image Bourns has released the SRP2010PA, SRP2510PA, and SRP2512PA Series shielded power inductors for high-current applications in space-constrained designs. The new series combines a metal-alloy powder core with shielded construction to reduce magnetic field radiation while maintaining a low-profile package.

The inductors are aimed at automotive systems, DC-DC converters, and miniature electronic devices where increasing current requirements are placing greater demands on board space and thermal performance.

Shielded Construction

The SRP-PA Series uses a shielded construction to reduce magnetic field radiation in EMI-sensitive designs. A metal-alloy powder core provides high current capability while supporting low-profile package dimensions.

According to Bourns, the combination of shielding and the metal-alloy core allows the inductors to deliver high saturation current without increasing magnetic field radiation.

Automotive Applications

The series is AEC-Q200 compliant for automotive applications and operates across a temperature range intended for demanding automotive environments. Bourns positions the inductors for automotive power systems and DC-DC converter designs where shielding is required to minimise EMI while meeting package height restrictions.

The devices are also RoHS compliant and halogen free.
